Alive In NY
Alive In NY is a city-wide scavenger hunt that has players finding looked over parts of their city that upon closer inspection are actually alive and have a life of their own.
Besides being a source of entertainment and delight Alive In NY also serves as an educational tool. Through the experience participants are brought to new neighborhoods and shown sides of their own they have never seen.
Why
Cities are such amazing places that bring such a diversity of people, thought, styles, histories, and visions together. They are so dense that it isn’t always easy for a viewpoint to be heard. Within Alive In NY these viewpoints can be uncovered and brought forward. We believe by this sharing we all become closer and more empathetic, resulting in a more positive, closer, more supportive world. That we can have fun in the process is icing on the cake.
How
Players will take on the role of a documentor/journalist set out to capture and update the historic, current and future histories of a place.
They will begin by selecting a survey within a neighborhood they wish to explore. Surveys will be made under the direction of one or more neighborhood experts and natives. They will bring participents to a curated list of location entries where they will have to find what comes alive and be shown names and facts as they participate. These facts will help to uncover other secret entries needed to complete the set. Along the way there will also be commonplace entries that are found everywhere to keep people enthralled as they explore for entries.
