Together, even when we’re alone.
In conjunction with music and art show This&That Café’s Vol. 44 - Covid-19 quarantine online event and more generally in response to feelings of forced isolation and disconnected-ness folks were feeling during the same time Shizuka Nagahama and I set out to make a participatory group experience to connect people who couldn’t be in the same space.
We created an augmented reality photo filter one shoots and then combines with others who have taken their photo with the same filter, a not-in-person group photo! The filter is a lighthearted experience where a random letter from the words “Alone Together” is slapped onto the users’ foreheads. By working with friends folks are given a premise to create a collage group photo, working on something silly together even when apart, resulting in a creation normally only made in person. The filter is available here: Instagram
